Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Medical Sciences is the first modern medicine Medical College established under the aegis of the SDM Educational Society.  Dr. D. (40% in case of SC/ST) Merit for selection is decided by the entrance (KCET/ COMEDK) examination result where in a minimum of 50% marks are mandatory.  However in respect of SC/ST candidates the minimum percentage of marks required is 40% instead of 50%. Age Criteria : Candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission.  Candidates from outside Karnataka State must get eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.  Candidates of minority status should have Tulu speaking certificate from appropriate authorities. Migration : Migration from one Medical College to another college after admission is generally not permitted and the Medical Council of India is the final authority to permit such change which considers only exceptional situations. For Non-Karnataka & CBSE (10+2) Candidates : Candidates who has completed 10+12 from CBSE  Board & Non Karnataka Students should secure Eligibility Certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore before admission process and students who have completed 10+12 other than in India should apply for Foreign Eligibility Certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore before admission process. Candidates must meet all requirements stipulated by Medical Council of India, New Delhi. Where admissions are on the basis of merit in entrance test, merit shall be determined on the basis of All India admission test conducted by the University for seats available in the discipline. University shall conduct entrance test of its own in all disciplines having one or many centres in the entire country of abroad. For courses where admission is through merit in the qualifying examination weight age shall be given for excellence in sports and other extracurricular activities. In respect of candidates belonging to Schedule Castes/Schedule Tribes or Other Backward Classes in all courses of study, Government rules and policy shall be applicable for determining the eligibility criteria for admission to any courses of study in University. All admissions shall be provisional. If it is found at any stage that the qualifying examination of a candidate is not recognised by the university or he/she has concealed or given false information, such admissions shall be cancelled at any stage. All admissions granted shall, in the first instance, be deemed to be provisional. The office of Registrar shall confirm the admission after verification of his/her documents for eligibility and enroll the student by allotting him/her Enrolment Number. Such students who were enrolled with any duly constituted University in the country can be migrated to the University with the approval of Academic Council.
